Lactose Intolerant Struggle

About 6/7 months ago I wrote this blog post:

Dairy-Free Lifestyle

Since then, I still have been yolo’ing with my intolerance. I mean, I still stick to my Oat Milk, but I cannot help snacking on things containing milk. These things include crisps, biscuits, popcorn (already made ones sold in packets at the supermarkets) etc.

I fully know that I shouldn’t, but, I guess my willpower in regards to them, have been quite weak. I have been verbally saying and tweeting that I will cut these things out, however, I do not actually do so.

Last Friday, I went to Tinseltown. Tinseltown is an American diner & milkshake bar. I took great pleasure in ordering a white Bueno & Malteaser milkshake. It tasted HEAVENLY.

On Sunday before going to the Lost Theatre, I picked up some snacks:

  • Nutella Dips
  • Sour Cream Pringles

All these, contain milk, yet I purchased & ate them during the show with no remorse.

After dinner, on that the same Sunday, at Satay Bar in Brixton, I went to Creams. Creams is a dessert cafe. I ordered a Belgian White Chocolate Crepe with a little white chocolate sauce.

BLOATED & GASSED DOESN’T EVEN COME CLOSE TO HOW I FELT BY THE TIME I GOT HOME!! Let’s just say, I’m glad that I wasn’t sharing my room with anyone. Getting arrested for attempted murder wouldn’t have been fun (LOL!)

Monday arrived, and I still felt URGH. I was craving for some takeaway though, and so long story cut short, I found myself enjoying a fat slice of chocolate mousse cake. At that point I felt like an oversized Bofrot.

😦

That night, I gave myself an earful.  I told myself that I would do better, and actually put an end to this nonsense. My belly was far from happy.

Yesterday was the 1st day of my new “staying away from things containing dairy” regime. I’ve been enjoying fruits/foods such as the following

Homemade Tuna Salad.
20160518_130604
Boiled Yam, Spinach stew with Mackerel & Avocados.

As well as enjoying natural teas such as Green Tea, Cerasee tea, Ginger tea, Cinnamon-Mint Tea etc. I want to remove all dairy from my system.

so far I have politely rejected things that I previously could not have said no to, such as Cookies & Brioche Rolls. Long may this continue.

I PLAN ON REMAINING FOCUSED AND ANY TIME I MAY FEEL LIKE FAILING, I WILL REMEMBER JUST HOW RUBBISH I FELT 2 DAYS AGO…….
